Papain Enzyme

Papain is a plant-derived enzyme (from papaya fruit) that helps digest protein by breaking down the peptide bonds between amino acids. It is used as a digestive aid and for normalizing systemic inflammation. It has been found helpful for people with gluten sensitivity and for treating parasitic worms, inflammation of the throat and pharynx, shingles (herpes zoster) symptoms, ongoing diarrhea, and hay fever (it breaks down mucus). Papain is also used along with conventional treatments for tumors.
